Most people think it’s a discipline or mindset issue, but usually it’s deeper than that. There’s often something underneath—like fear, shame, or an old pattern—that’s making it feel unsafe to move forward.
So even if you know what to do, a part of you is holding you back. I help people work with those underlying parts so they’re not fighting themselves anymore—and things start to move a lot more naturally.
Most of us were never taught how to be with those emotions—we were taught to avoid or fix them.
What I do is help people slow down and actually learn how to be with those experiences in a way that feels safe and manageable. When you do that, they start to lose their grip on you.
It’s not about getting rid of them—it’s about changing your relationship to them so they don’t run your life.
I hear that a lot—and the short answer is, yes, you can change it.
What feels like ‘just who you are’ is usually a set of patterns, experiences, and protective responses you’ve developed over time. They make sense, and they’ve served a purpose—but they’re not your identity.
When you start working with them instead of against them, things can shift in a really real way. You don’t become a different person—you become more of who you actually are, without those patterns running the show.
